Sophomore Reese Williams comes out of a tunnel of supporters during her “walk-through” to honor her for earning her second state tennis tournament appearance in two years.

Sophomore Reese Williams made her second straight appearance at the IHSA state tennis championships, and she is only a sophomore.

Williams participated in the tournament this past weekend in the Chicago suburbs, where matches were spread over various sites in the Buffalo Grove area. Even though Williams was defeated 6-3, 6-3 in her first round against Makayla Buenafe of Oswego, Williams had improved her position in sectionals from fourth place as a freshman to third place this year in qualifying for the state tournament.

With two more years to qualify, Williams has plenty of time to improve on this already remarkable accomplishment for UT tennis.
