UTHS senior Ryleigh O’Brien won the Don Morris Award in a ceremony at Rock Island High School this past Monday, along with Rocky’s Ben Ellis.

Ryleigh was recognized for playing volleyball, basketball, and soccer, as well as having a 4.1 G.P.A., ranking her sixteenth in her class.

This is the second year in a row a female athlete from UTHS has been the winner.  Brittni LaFountaine took the honors last year.  Each WB6 school nominates a male and female athlete each year.  The male nominee for UTHS was Ethan Filby.

The Don Morris Award goes to one senior male athlete and one senior female athlete who play multiple sports, excel academically, and are active in their communities.
