Wednesday, April 10, UTHS put on Culture Con (cultural convention). The event consisted of activities, food, and short presentations put on so that people not only came and had fun, but they also learned a few things about various cultures. The Culture Con was presented by UTHS Anime Club, French Club, Latinos Unidos, and Spanish National Honor Society. Each club put on their own separate show, but all worked together to make an awesome night of entertainment for over 60 students in attendance.

Anime Club had activities such as making origami and ghost-like figures that help bring sun or rain. For food they presented a  very unique little tray filled with a variety of little things such as a hot dog cut to look like a squid, a rice ball, and a fortune cookie. To top it off they added chop sticks. They also put on presentations on Japanese music, language, and culture.

French Club put up an activity that involved forming the Eiffel Tower with pins and a variety of colored yarns on a board. For food they made a yummy crepe that attendees could put either caramel or chocolate in. They put on presentations on French music, language, and culture.

Latinos Unidos and Spanish National Honor Society decided to be colorful with activities such as making bead bracelets and necklaces and also making mini-maracas. Foods included a chicken and cheese fajita and a variety of desert items like a jello/mousse cup and brownies. They presented Spanish music, language, and culture. Latinos Unidos also spiced things up a with a marvelous dance.

Besides the attractions set up by the clubs there were other presentations like the BHC Cultural Spotlight, exchange students, and UTHS Spotlight.
