Clothesline Project brings awareness

Posted by on April 2, 2012 with 0 Comments

Volleyball nets served as a clothesline as the Authentic Voices group brought the Clothesline Project to UTHS.  This is an annual event meant to raise awareness of violence committed against women in the world.

According to materials sent out by Authentic Voices sponsor Mrs. Carol Mackel, “The Clothesline Project is a testament to the violence perpetrated against women on a daily basis in our country.  …The Clothesline Project gives a voice to the victims of violence. This display is emotionally hard to walk through and look at….  The more people understand how horrible these types of violence are, the sooner we can bring an end to them.”

The shirts were on display first through fifth hours today in Gym B.
